Putting Period on Myths

The Active Dreams, an NGO, aims to spread awareness regarding various myths and beliefs affiliated with menstruation and we are organizing an event, “Putting Periods on Myths” with reputed doctors, Dr. Sonal Gupta and Dr. Sadhana Kala.

The discussion will revolve around busting various myths and common misunderstandings people have regarding menstruation. The discussions will also be about biological and hormonal processes that people may be unaware of due to lack of awareness and the stigma associated with menstruation.

TAD’s goal is to get more people on board with ideas surrounding menstruation. Menstruation is an important part of a woman’s life and it’s necessary to ensure that all aspects regarding it are clear. Men also need to be made a part of this, as they also constitute the society.

As we all know, the Indian society believes a lot of traditional myths associated with menstruation that restricts a women’s day to day activities even though it is completely unnecessary. TAD wants to put a stop to these myths so that women don’t go through unnecessary rules that they have to abide by, and can live freely.
